Bring Radiance and Prosperity With the People Around You Through Kundalini Yoga

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient form of Yoga that promotes good health and overall radiance. While it has been widely practiced in India for years, it was only introduced in the West in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan.   The practice of Kundalini Yoga has been kept secret, because it was only intended to be learned by the high priests of the upper class. However, Yogi Bhajan went against convention and taught Kundalini Yoga to the public – he believed that everyone has the right to study and learn this powerful form of Yoga.

Through his teachings of Yoga, Yogi Bhajan improved the lives of thousands of people. But he made it clear that he did not come to gather disciples, but came to create teachers who will help others. Yogi Bhajan’s principles were a collection of several teachings and encounters from the great masters in India, and he brought them to the West to help those who were looking for higher consciousness.

Kundalini Yoga is a holistic system that strengthens the body and get the psycho-spiritual spirit it needs to broaden the consciousness. With regular practice of Kundalini Yoga, one will be able to identify the untapped source of the “prana” (inner energy) lying dormant at the base of the spine (called the Muladhara Chakra) and will learn how to use it by drawing the energy up, awakening each of the seven Chakras.

What sets Kundalini Yoga apart from the other forms of Yoga is that it emphasizes on doing the Kriyas – the different exercises and purification processes. Doing these exercise activities and purification practices allow a healthy flow of energy in the body, while clearing the blockages and balancing the Glandular system at the same time.

Because Kundalini Yoga is not about keeping the body strong, it can be practiced by all skill levels. A gong is used to create a unique, unifying sound that will help elevate the spirit, clear the mind, and heal the body all at the same time. Kundalini Yoga is very easy to understand and is much accessible to both beginners and advanced Yoga practitioners alike.

Kundalini Yoga can a powerful and a positive transformational medium when learned with the proper guidance. It is not a religion, but aims to tune you in to your subtle energies. Through its different movements and breathing techniques, you will be able aware of the connection that binds you with the Supreme Being. Kundalini Yoga will help you live a world of healing, which will bring peace, radiance, and prosperity to the people around you as well.

A Beginners Guide to Yoga Exercise Videos

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

In this challenging economy, many of us are experiencing stress at a deeper and more profound level, but much of that unpleasant stress can be eliminated by simply incorporating Yoga exercise videos into your weekly workout routines. Added stress and tension can create all sorts of problems including increased fatigue, moody emotions, weight gain and even back pain. It just makes sense that if something can be done in about twenty minutes can reduce or eliminate those symptom you should consider doing it – and that something is Yoga.

In a nutshell, Yoga is a workout or exercise that people have been practicing for centuries that brings us together, that makes the entire body work in harmony, the mind, the body and the spirit – thus called a mind/body workout. It also provides mental clarity so making decisions comes easier and faster. Even though it is perfectly OK to do Yoga without any equipment, many people prefer to use a Yoga sticky mat to make the postures easier to hold and provide comfort when in a seated position.

Don’t worry if you are a beginner as the experience is quite welcoming, since Yoga instructors teach in a non-competitive manor, and to focus on your own personal workout for that particular day. Or, try a few different types of Yoga by getting a few workout videos and doing them at home, at your leisure.

There are a wide variety of different types of Yoga to choose from: Hatha is the gentlest type of Yoga while Vinyasa tends to be a bit more vigorous using many poses called Sun Salutations. If you are interested in learning good form and technique, you may consider Iyengar Yoga since it focusing on posture and body alignment. And lastly, if you want to focus on the breathing side of Yoga, I would recommend trying Kundalini Yoga which focuses much of the effects of breath, also called prana (meaning energy). These are just a few of many wonderful forms of Yoga, why not try two or three different formats then choose one or two that you feel the most comfortable with.

Allow Yoga to become a part of your lifestyle and you will find, within weeks, how wonderful you can look and feel – yes, the poses may be challenging at first, but before you know it, they will make sense and you will be able to take your Yoga practice to a whole new level. Yoga really can “re-energize” you and make you feel younger and stronger, why not pick up an exercise video or two and move one step closer towards the “you” you want to be.

Are Trendy Celebrity Workouts For You

Sunday, February 6th, 2011

A celebrity inspired workout at home is yours to keep even though you are not a celebrity!  These fun workouts can be a great way to get in shape and they don’t involve a lot of money or a famous trainer. Just some simple fundamentals and a few pieces of small equipment are needed to get you started.

First of all, the very best way to do a celebrity inspired workout is to own one of the many DVDs that celebrities endorse. Tracey Anderson is the hottest trainer in Hollywood right now and happens to have DVDs on the market that give you the exact same workout done by her celebrity clients like Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna. Well, not the exact same. Here’s the truth : the only real way to workout like Madonna is to be Madonna. Already done. However, you can get the same exercises and routines that she do at a fraction of the cost.

In case you are not the DVD type  of person, maybe a book is a better choice for you. Harley Pasternak is a big hollywood trainer (Halle Berry) and has several books out about his methods all with very good photographic examples. Bob Greene of Oprah fame is another well published trainer to the stars. Books are a great way to learn about new methods of working out and act as a visual reference that you can evermore go back to.

Do you like to try a celebrity gym workout minus the trendy workout place?  Physique 57, The Bar Method, and Core Fusion are all celebrity hot spots with their Lotte Burke Method and Pilates inspired moves. These three workouts are offered only in exclusive settings, but you can get the same benefits right at home with one of their new DVDs. possibly you want something specific like Jessica Biel’s arms or Jennifer Aniston’s bottom? You might be surprised that some of the best bodies in Hollywood get that way from very basic workouts that don’t  need many equipment.

Jessica Biel’s arms are due to strength training with free weights and good old fashioned pushups. Jennifer Aniston contributes her bottom’s physique to Yoga. Neither of them would do something that you too cannot work on at home. All it takes is a little patience and tenacity.

But the real secret to the stars beautiful bodies is not really a secret at all. Hard work. Really hard work. If you had the money and schedule to hire the best trainers to work you out five days a week for two hours a day, you would look like the stars too. That is not to say that you can’t, just that you always need to have some perspective when coveting the hollywood bods. Any workout you choose to do at home, be it the celebrity kind or not, should be composed of all the basic elements: Strength training, flexibility, and cardio. Choose a variety of programs to keep you on track and to keep you and your muscles from getting bored.
