Will my skin shrink after a moderate weight loss?

December 25th, 2009 at 6:32

Hey, I’m gonna turn 18 next month and I decided to lose some weight before college. I currently weigh 300 pounds with most of my weight in my gut. Since I have a pretty big build, I think I’ll reach a good weight somewhere around 230. If I follow a good nutrition diet paired with a weight training program should I have any problems with loose skin after a seventy pound loss?

that is very possible…..

go jr go

I don’t think you will have a problem with loose skin. Number one you are 18 and your skin is supple. Number 2 you only have to lose around 70 pounds which is not enough to cause loose skin. The key is to lose the weight gradually, say 3 pounds a week. That way your skin should stay tight. Good luck!

    hi there
i was 250 and have been losing my weight gradually
i was concerned about that too
i asked my doc and he said it you lose the weight 1-2 pounds a week. you r skin will shrink and tighten. and so far it has been. So I guess the answer is to just take it off slowly. He said if I lost it to fast that i would have that problem. hope this helps
