This is part two of an advanced nutrition lecture on the science of carbs. Topics discussed include weight loss, hyperglycemia, hypoglycemia, metabolism, calories, digestion, simple sugars vs. complex carbohydrates, refined sugar, diabetes, diets, low blood sugar, high blood sugar, obesity, etc.

RADHlA is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist, C.C.N. She is also a Certified BioNutritional Analyst. She has a Ph.D. in pastoral counseling and a M.Ed. in nutrition. She is a professional member of the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists, (I.A.A.C.N), and the American Naturopathic Medical Association (A.N.M.A.).

    because sugar is useless waste to the body that it can not use for anything but energy and if that energy is not used immediately, it’s stored long term as fat otherwise they would poison the blood . Fatty acids are actually needed for various functions so body uses them immediatelly.

    Love your lecture and completely agree with what you say.. I just dont understand chemically speaking, how does blood sugar convert into fat? or how does it get stored as fat? If fatty acids are essential, how come we can convert sugar into fat.. ?

    Milk hovers around the 30′s on the Glycemic index so it’s fairly moderate in regards to increasing blood sugar levels.

    There’s also a small deviation on what type of milk you’re talking about.

    This is the first of your videos I ever see, and it’s kind of a revelation. I recognize all the separate words but your way of connecting it all makes perfect sense. I’m doing animations and 3D stuff and searching for and see a lot of presentations, but your way of telling with analogies make it perfectly clear without! I think I have to see the rest of your videos a few time when I’ve seen this one again. Great work!!!

    also, i think it’s important to mention that the primary role of glucagon is to convert the stored glycogen into glucose when it is required by the body. the body would not use fats as a primary source of fuel or energy.
