My Personal P90X Nutrition Plan Video One – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8kCZJ0_Mk8

The most common questions I get are all based on the P90X Nutrition and what works. Well my friends the best thing I could do was create a video to explain what I have done in the past and present, what works for me, and a bunch more.

Being me I went to make you a single ten minute video to sum it all up – What I got was 45 minutes of some great content that I decided to split up and share with you over a 6 day series of videos. Each video has it’s own subject discussion, some based on diet, some based on weight loss, some based on fitness training, and another of food.

I really hope you all enjoy the work I put into these videos – Of course I am no expert so if you are an expert and have some advice i’d love your feedback!

Be sure to check out Part 3 of 6 in my Personal P90X Nutrition Plan {Protein – The Building Block of Muscle}

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

This video clears up some misconceptions about nutrition. Many people think nutrition is just what you eat but it’s actually a four step process; eating, digestion, absorption of nutrients and elimination.

If you would like to feel better, have more energy, lose weight, be more happy, sleep better, have less stress, have fewer medical bills, become more healthy, etc. then learning about nutrition can help you.

Nutrition not only affects you physical health but also your mental health. If you take care if your body you will function better in life.

How did I do it you might ask? – Hardwork, determination, and moral support. 6-pack abs part2, Nutrition

Monday, January 25th, 2010

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF5yTLzWyBU

There is no such thing as “6-pack abs fast”. You cant buy 6-pack abs from an infomercial or get them from a bottle. Getting 6-pack abs is simple but takes alot of work – eat less and exercise more. This video goes into depth on nutrition for muscle gain and weight loss. I show you 8 very healthy meals that you can make in 3 minutes or less.

Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn’t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.

For more information on home workouts, please see my free website (no advertising either):

What are some good tips for getting healthier and possible weight loss that doesn’t require a lot of work?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

I want to try to get healthier and stop eating so much junk food. I try to keep to a plan, but every time my willpower caves and I give up. My mom knows a lot about nutrition but she doesn’t always have time to remind me about it. Does anyone have any tips to easily remember how to stay on track?

If you understand the importance of how "The Invisible Controls The Visible" in all things in life, you know that it’s our "mind" that is the boss that gives out order for the "body" to carry out.

Therefore, if you’re asking for "not a lot of work" to do to achieve weight loss and overall health improvement, then you’d just need to focus your energy onto your "inner wisdom" – your "mind," that is.

"Change your mind, and change your luck." That is so well understood now thanks to the movie "The Secret."

By changing your mind, you can start to see yourself losing weight without any efforts, while you can still enjoy your yummy foods too.

Check out the following website for a very new and yet very powerful program that helps you fine-tune your "mind" to create the fast weight loss and overall health improvement that you’ve always wanted.

Don’t be like: "I’m so broke I can’t even pay attention."

That’s where a lot of people fail and…gain weight at the same time.

how does this diet sound for weight loss?

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

instant oatmeal maple and brown sugar 3 meals a day.
ill give you the breakdown of nutrition facts for this.
calories 160 each packet- calories from fat 15
total fat 1.5- 2 percent
not saturated or trans fat 0
33 carbs- is that bad?
dietary fiber 3 grams
sugars 13 g

i know this is extreme but if i eat this 3 meals a day do cardio 7 days a week for an hour and a half each day will i see weight loss?
the packet is 43grams by the way.

Although outmeal is healthy, eating nothing BUT oatmeal is very unhealthy.

Try regular oatmeal (not instant with the flavours, thats a lot of sugar!) and put a bit of honey into it or something. And eat that for BREAKFAST.

For lunch, and dinner have different meals, preferably with some vegetables and fruit.

Nutrition weight gaining bars?

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

My best friend brenda is having a really hard time gaining weight. No she does not have an eating disorder… she’s like 5’3? And weighs 94 pounds. She used to weigh like 113-115, so shes lost about 20 pounds. Not purposely, she eats a lot actually and smokes so you think she’d weigh more. Well anyways she wants me to help her find nutrition weight gain bars, No supplements cause most of them would affect her birth control, or they’re not approved by the FDA. anyways google isnt much help, all I keep finding is weight LOSS bars. Anyone know of the right thing to buy? Got a website I could look at? Thanks

Met-Rx meal replacement shakes and Met-RX Colossal 100 bars are also good for gaining weight

hope this helped

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

I had a baby 8 weeks ago and was back to my pre pregnancy weight within a week but have since put on a couple of pounds. I am exercising and eating well but thought it may be due to a lack of vitamins – i have started taking folate again but wondered if there are other vitamin supplements that are good to lose or maintain weight when your diet is not as good (due to baby demands). He is formula fed by the way so my nutrition doesnt affect his.

Exercise, nutrition & weight loss – 3 different results

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Exercise, nutrition and weight loss are three separate and distinct ideas that our culture has collapsed into one idea when we think about losing weight. Therein lies the problem.
Exercise for weight loss: If you are overeating, it’s almost impossible to exercise enough to counteract the effects. It takes a 200 pound person 30 minutes, walking 2 miles per hour, to burn off 1 ounce of tortilla chips or 2 tablespoons of ranch dressing. If the main reason for exercising is to lose weight by burning calories, can you ever really win that game?

Nutrition for weight loss: Choosing foods based on their content doesn’t produce long-term weight loss. If certain foods made you thin, you’d be thin today. Eating more nutritious foods will make your body run better, just as better gasoline makes your car run better. But that’s all they will do. Even steamed veggies will make you fat if eat them when you are not hungry. Giving your body more food than it needs, regardless of its content, is still overeating, and the reason for weight gain.

I, personally, tend to make wholesome food choices. I believe that this contributes to my health. I also am dedicated to vigorous daily exercise. I love it and I believe it contributes to making me fit. However, neither my food choices nor my exercise habits is the reason I have maintained my goal weight for more than five years. I have maintained my goal weight simply because I no longer overeat.

Which meal replacement bar is better for weight loss?

Monday, January 4th, 2010

I am trying to lose weight and I have three different protein/meal replacement bars to choose from:
Special K chocolate peanut butter meal bar
Zone Perfect Classic Nutrition bar
Kashi GoLean crunchy protein and fiber bar
I need to know which one is more effective for weight loss.

you know what your daily calorie maintenance level is, it’s time to officially create your weight loss diet plan.

To do this, just subtract 500 from your calorie maintenance level.

For example, if you figured your maintenance level to be 3000 calories per day, you would now start eating 2500 calories per day instead. It’s really as easy as it sounds. Just subtract 500 from your daily maintenance level and then start eating this new amount of calories each day. By doing so, you would officially be in a calorie deficit. And, as you know, a calorie deficit is what makes weight loss happen.

Please answer if you are good with Biology. A weight loss question?

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

I’m a nursing student and the following info I’m going to provide, I’ve learned it in my Nutrition class. It’s been a while so my terminology isn’t perfect. But you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

Take a girl, for example. Her body needs carbs (glucose) for energy. Okay. She gets that from food. When she stops eating, the glucose stored in muscle will be used up for energy then. When that’s done, the stored glucose in the form of fat in her body will be used (in other words, the fat would be used up for energy).

My question is, why is that a bad thing? Isn’t that the way weight loss is supposed to work? I understand that once that stored fat is used up as well, the body will start breaking down muscle for energy.

Why do people say that when you severly restrict your calories or stop eating altogether, after water weight loss, the first thing to go is muscle?

Please understand that I am not anorexic. this is something I’ve been curious about for a while.
Thank you for the great answers, everybody.

And Carlos, there was nothing "retarded" about the question I asked. YOU don’t even seem to UNDERSTAND what I asked.

I’m a student of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry… and I can answer your question like this:

When there is glucose restriction, lipid metabolism will take over to meet the energy demands. Lipid breakdown will produce Ketone bodies. Lipid metabolism will NOT result in production of glucose. The glyoxylate cycle doesn’t operate in humans, and consequently, excess fats CANNOT be converted to carbohydrates.
Ketone bodies can, however, serve as a source of ATP, and therefore function appropriately as energy sources for many tissues. BUT, certain tissues are absolutely dependent on glucose metabolism for energy (e.g, Red blood cells, kidney cells, brain cells etc…). Brain cells can shift their metabolic balance towards ketone body metabolism, but it usually requires about 72 hours for the brain to start using Ketone bodies.

So, to produce Glucose, the body has available sources of protein in the muscle. These will breakdown to produce amino acids, some of which will be glucogenic… and lead to the production of glucose (by gluconeogenesis), that can be used by the RBCs, kidney, brain etc…

This explains why… "the first thing to go after water weight loss is muscle".
